Don Kulick: Exceeding the Limits: Fat Porn
A type of pornography that thrives on the Internet is Fat
Porn, which features photos of women, many of whom weigh
over 200 kg. A striking feature of this genre of pornography
is that the women pictured do not have sex. Instead of having
sex, these women have food: they eat. So the pornographic
act is not the display of a penis or some other object entering
a woman's vagina. Instead, the pornographic act is the display
of food entering a woman's mouth. How can one think about
this genre of pornography in terms of gender, race, sexuality
and power? What would Foucault say about these women, who
sometimes refer to themselves as BBW (Big Beautiful Women)?
